Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilts - by Jo
It seemed strange being back in the Church Hall, but once Julia gave out all the ntices and the date of next year's Exhibition!!! everyone looked as if they felt at home.
Everyone was armed with their sewing kits and Julia gave each table an evelope containing enough hexagons and material to make seven hexagon flowers. Work started instantly with lots of chat about whether they tacked the material round the hexagon or used a dab of glue. Julia told us we would stop for refreshments about 8.20, but when the trolley came out we were all so engrossed, we had to be reminded several times to get our teas, being determined to finish our flowers, no one wanted to stop.
After the cups were cleared away there was Show and Tell and a discussion on what sewing workshops and coach trips we would like.
Julia had worked so hard preparing the kits to make the Grandmothers' Flower Garden quilts, ow that we have made the flowers they will be added to the quilt packs and put together to be displayed at this year's mini exibition. Thank you Julia from us all for making this such an enjoyable evening.
