2016 December Meeting

December Meeting - by Merry

The final meeting for 2016 was packed full of festive cheer.

To begin Julia read the notices and we were given the 2017 programme, which looks very inspiring.

Julia also presented a cheque to the Linus project which will be used for a fabric shopping spree in Japan (which sounds amazing) to allow the creation of many more quilts.

We then moved on to playing the games which included sewing bingo - a great hit with all, especially when over half the group all shouted bingo at the same time.

After all that excitement it was time for a well earned tea break. There was a great variety of Christmas treats including mince pies, Christmas cake and stollen. This all went down very nicely.

The final game required a lot of concentration and mental maths as Julia lead us through 'The Peculiar Game' so we could discover who was the best dressed lady of the evening.

We then had a wonderful show and tell of so many brilliant items, with many on their way to new homes for Christmas. There were also more quilts to be donated to Linus.

Overall a splendid way to end the year!

Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
