Project Linus

Shirley Quilters supports Project Linus UK in an ongoing capacity. Members regularly make quilts which they bring along to the meetings, Jill is our member who collects the quilts and then passes them on to Liz (Local Co-ordinator for Project Linus) and she in turn distributes them to the various hospitals and hospices in the area who then donate them to the children in their care. These children can be from babies up to the age of 18.

Liz will also advise Jill if there are any specific requirements as to size of quilts or other items that from time to time are required. During 2017 members were asked to knit hats and cardigans for premature babies.

Two members of Shirley Quilters are currently cutting fabrics according to various easy, as well as scrappy patterns and making packs for the members to take home and sew.   It is hoped that members will back, quilt and bind before returning the quilts ready to be handed on to Liz.

During 2016 Shirley Quilters donated 197 quilts to Project Linus

During 2017 Shirley Quilters has donated 256 quilts to Project Linus - as at 24th December
