2016 February

February Meeting - by Shirley

Cold evening but very well attended as usual.

Items relating to the Club Challenges i.e. Tea Cups, Cupcakes, Log Cabin blocks were handed in, together with Egg Cosies for Multiple Scelerosis Appeal – 48 knits for the latter were handed in at this meeting.

Ingredients Table available this evening and I noticed that there were many fabric purchases – no doubt to be added to existing piles of stash at home. Next Ingredients Table in April.

There are still two places available on the bus for the trip to NEC and five places on the Sylvia Critcher Saturday Workshop to be held on 19th March.
Linus Packs for quilt tops were available to any members who wished to make these at home.

AGM is to be held on 17th May. Fees of £27.00 must be paid in full by the end of this meeting to ensure continuity of membership since members will not be chased if fees are not received from them. Maximum term of office for Committee Members is three years and the position of Treasurer will come up for re-election. Election forms from Julia at March/April meetings.

Any items which members wish to discuss at the AGM must be brought up at the meeting to be held on 19th April or altertnatively emailed to a committee member.

Julia read out the groups for the Project Linus sewing meetings.

Kusadama Flower: All members produced their fabric squares – highly starched as instructed – to produce Kusadama Flowers. Debbie had gone to a great deal of trouble in preparing handouts for this and once everyone got started and managed to sort out the different folds, etc., there was a very colourful selection displayed on dowling sticks during the Show and Tell.
Very enjoyable meeting
