2016 Wimbledon Quilters

Wimbledon International Quilters' Exhibition - by Margaret

On Saturday I decided to have a day out, so set off for Wimbledon by bus and tram. It turned out to be a very easy journey and I was there in just over an hour.

It was a relatively small exhibition with a wide variety of quilts. There was a small room with the challenge quilts which I didn't find particularly interesting, but hearing some of the conversations around me, they probably meant more to those who took part.

The large hall showed some really nice items with everything from fairly basic designs to complex art quilts. There were quite a number from one maker whose name I forget, that were outstanding.

As usual the cake was delicious and there was a sales table also.

I enjoyed my visit.
