2017 Gail Penberthy Workshop

Hankie House Workshop - by Sue B

Last Saturday I arrived at the church for Gail Penberthy's workshop to make the tissue book cover.

We were all in the big hall as usual and when I walked in there were just four other people there and Gail.

It ended up with six of us and we all had a really enjoyable day. Gail is a very good teacher and had infinite patience with us working out what to do and shared quite a few good tips.

We made the basic body of the box, the roof, and the chimney before lunch, then Gail ran through with us ideas for the decoration on the outside. We all made a start on this and then at the end of the afternoon Gail told us how we were to construct the Hankie House and also various things that we could do if things went slightly wrong and not to plan, especially with the chimney!!!

All in all a very good and enjoyable day was had by us all and we all left with a copy of the pattern and our half constructed cover to finish off at home.
