Crafty UK - by Helen D
A lovely summers evening with doors open wide bringing a cool breeze which was most welcome on such a warm night. And my goodness it was a laughter filled evening - I am sure our neighbours in Shirley will be curious as to the source of such fun.
I can report it was all down to Andy from Crafty-UK who had a stream of funny stories as he demonstrated his quilting templates. After 36 years as a cardboard box designer he transferred his love of problem solving to quilters, developing a huge range of ingenious and fool-proof templates. He showed us quilts he had made using the templates - from stags heads to Dresden plates to hearts to twisted pin wheels and much, much, more besides. So as you can imagine there was a bit of a stampede to take a close look at his quilts followed by a queue to buy the reasonably priced templates and fabrics he had brought along.
If you missed the meeting you can catch him at the Festival of Quilts next month or on one of his regular TV appearances or take a look at www.crafty-uk.co.uk.
I am sure future Show and Tells will feature Quilts made with the templates.
