2018 December Meeting
December Meeting - by Grace
Over 40 came, dressed in Christmassy attire,
reindeer win in the number count with jumper sequins afire;
2 pair antler, tinsel and robin decked, 1 elf with ears to hear the wishes
Of all the women gathered there for fabric stash and stitches.
As earrings flashed and tinsel glinted, we tussled acronyms that hinted
Of the darker art of quilting with FART *and SEX* and Squishy*!
Then a crossword full of learning, with “mola” and “betweens”
And more to do when we got home ‘twixt turkey and ice cream.
Here were chocolates to feed our minds as we eyed the tea and pies
And then we gathered yummies cupped in Noel napkins
Ready for our show and tell – and surprise!
Linus blankets, quilts abounded
From football, flower fairies, Champs,
pirates, dinosaurs – and wonky hearts that pounded
with love for each tiny Tim this season
That’s the reason for all our stitches…
Snowflake Jackie shared Gemini from a “stolen” pattern!
Now Santa Claire gave out the parcels
No peeking until Christmas Day – expect a missive from the Red One
All will be revealed – but we could feel the fabric and the thread – with dread!
