2018 January Meeting

On a cold winter’s night there was a good attendance for our first meeting of 2018. Claire wished us all a Happy New Year and then moved on to give some more information about the 2018 programme.
We will be able to sign up for the Gail Lawther workshop (April) at the February meeting.
Project Linus – ready cut packs of fabric with instructions are now available to be made into little quilts for Project Linus – it is hoped that all members will help to make them up.
2018 CHALLENGES
• LITTLE DRESS block pattern was handed out (also coming by email) and background fabric given – to be returned by April meeting.
• BLOCK OF THE MONTH – patterns from the Knoxville modern quilt guild.
Claire will be giving us 2 patterns each month. It is hoped that some quilts will be completed in time for display at our Exhibition in October. More explanation and patterns next meeting.
Embroidering name badges, much chatting and refreshments came next, followed by a Show and Tell of our sewing activities since we had last met.
Finally, a reminder to bring a mini-make to show at the February meeting.
