2018 November Meeting

November Meeting - by Jane K

A nice relaxed evening, starting with just a few announcements. In October we had the usual wear pink evening for breast cancer and £55 was raised. So well done every one, especially Jill who organised it. There is an exhibition at the Menier Chocolate Factory (close to London Bridge Station) from November 27th to December 1st by zero3.

Then we all settled down to chat and get busy on our Christmas makes. We all sat around tables and each one had a committee member to demonstrate ' the make'. We made a Christmas tree shaped Christmas card holder. We cut around a template and made a sandwich of Christmas fabric, backing and wadding. Which was then turned inside out, and a tail of ribbon added. Various suggestions were made to add bows, sequins and beads to decorate. I think only one person finished! So some homework.

We found time for refreshments and finally finished with a show and tell, which included some festive Linus quilts.

Note:  The festive Linus quilts will be going to children at the St. Helier Special Care Unit based in Surrey.
