2019 April Meeting

April Meeting - by Jane K

This was a members meeting, with hints and handy tips to make our quilting life easier.

We started off with Claire giving out announcements, telling us about various exhibitions we might like to go to. She also reminded us that if we wanted to be a member again next year we had to pay our £30 subs by the end of the May meeting. Our AGM is to be in June this year.

There were 4 demonstration tables for us to visit.
How to re-size blocks either using a gauge or “% maths”. She also warned us to re-measure after taking the photocopy as it distorts it.
How to make a double quilt binding, which gives a nice edging without hand sewing.
How to do a mitred corner and join binding when already stitched on the quilt.
How to make a hanging sleeve for exhibitions.

We all had a very enjoyable evening and came away with new skills to try.

Thank you to Eileen, Jill, Claire and Anne for all their tips and advice.
