2020 Creative Quilting

Creative Quilting by Jackie S

I recently visited Creative Quilting at Molesey (Hampton Court) as the withdrawal symptoms for quilting shopping were getting overwhelming!

You may remember that Izzy, who then owned the shop, visited the group a few years ago to give a talk and bring her wares for us to purchase. Izzy sold the shop back to Val, from whom she purchased it, about a year ago and Val has new ideas about fabrics and accessories.  Val has got in new fabrics, including Moda, and generally there are a lot more up-to-date colours and designs, along with the basics that were always in stock.

The staff were, as always, very helpful and willing and I managed to purchase most of the items on my list, plus a few others that weren't, of course. I came away with a large bag full of goodies. The shop is relatively small compared to some others but they have an extensive range of fabrics, plus threads, accessories, some books and magazines.

During the current situation they are operating an appointment system, which worked perfectly for me. I was the only customer in the shop for about half an hour when the next appointment arrived and half an hour to an hour is allowed. Booking in advance is via the website but I rang to check the system and got a slot the same day. A mask is required and they have hand sanitising equipment in the shop. Everything is well organised.

The shop is a few minutes' walk from Hampton Court station and there is a car park adjacent to the station at the bottom of Hampton Court Bridge. Street parking near the shop is possible but always busy when I've visited. Address 32 Bridge Road, East Molesey, KT8 9HA, phone number 020 8941 7075. Opening hours are listed on the website but phone to check.

Their website is very good and easy to use www.creativequilting.co.uk

I thoroughly recommend a visit.
