2021 September Meeting

September Meeting - by Betty

Claire was not at the meeting. She and her father had been to a quilt show in Belfast when he was taken ill and they are both still in Northern Ireland. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Eileen gave out the notices.

1. Next month is Breast Cancer Awareness Day - Please wear something pink, if you wish to

2. Next month we will be in the Church while work is done on the heating system

3. Louisa Lawson is offering a workshop on Applique. Cost £30. Please contact Eileen if you are interested

4. We sent a donation to St Christopher's Hospice in memory of Hannah

One of our members, Jan, was invited to take part in “Mystery Masterpieces”, the project was actually generally for art, Jan agreed to get involved but her contribution was “sewn” and she made a postcard. All contributions were auctioned to raise funds for St Christopher’s Hospice and Jan’s postcard raised £50.00 – well done Jan!

Then on to the business part of the evening. We divided into groups to put the Star quilts for Linus together. Eileen had done one so that we knew what we were doing. After much chatter, laughter and hard work we felt we had achieved something
