2022 Ardingly Quilt Show

Ardingly Quilt Show - by Joyce

Jane and I went to the Ardingly Quilt Show on Saturday. (29th January 2022)

It was so nice to go to a show together again and enjoy looking at beautiful quilts and do a little shopping! It was a smaller event than usual and there were fewer people so it didn’t feel like we were in a scrum as can sometimes happen.

The featured Artists included Shirley Yule with a range of styles of quilts she has made over the past few years. Gillian Travis studying windows and some very colourful ones inspired by her trips to India. Sandie Lush showed her Baltimore quilts, all hand appliquéd and hand quilted, such tiny stitches and very beautiful designs.

The Cabot Quilters had been inspired by “Reverie” by the Art Nouveau artist Alphonse Mucha, a beautiful picture which if you Google it I think you will recognise. There were some very imaginative designs with lovely fabrics.

We bought a few things, well you have to, don’t you! Including some Harry Potter fabric that the grandchildren will enjoy using!

Altogether a great day out.
