2022 November Meeting

November Meeting - by Helen D

I know it is technically still November with its long, dark, wet and windy days ....BUT....I have to tell you it's starting to feel a lot like Christmas!!

And last night Shirley Quilters kicked off the festive season with their usual enthusiasm by making the most beautiful Christmas tree bauble. The hall was packed to the gunnels as members found their seats around tables which rang with laughter and catch-up conversations. All members had taken two squares of Christmas fabric and to make the magic happen were given a lovely goody bag containing a polystyrene ball, some pins and a length of gold chain and......... hey presto, the magic happened. Needless to say, it would have been impossible without Jill leading us through the project with her endless patience, ably assisted by Eileen.

There were lashings of tea, coffee and choccy biscuits on hand to keep the evening on track and by the end of the meeting all members had completed the task.

So, we left the hall counting down the days to Christmas holding a stunning bauble to hang on our Christmas trees this year and future years - a lovely memory of a super evening.

Ps. it's only 39 more sleeps until Christmas Day so get the mince pies and carrots ready!!  (As at 15th November 2022)
