August Meeting - by Julia

This month's meeting started with notices of things going on in the quilting world then updates on the need for more Linus quilts. Premature baby quits should be no smaller than 24” square.

Erica was then presented with a lovely baby quilt for her new arrival which was very gratefully received. Erica is now our Instagram rep and will be posting lots of pics of our makes over the coming months. Just look for Shirley Quilters on the App.

We then had a brainstorming session on what we like about Shirley Quilters. We all wrote down our top four things on post it notes and very similar results came up. The notes will be read by the committee to help them plan for the future. Top of the lists was learning from each other, speakers and tutors. We love the sharing of ideas and the social aspect of the group too. Some asked that the challenges could be more focused on a useful end product with an overview given at the beginning.

Otherwise we all love everything about Shirley Quilters!

We finished with tea and chat over some hand sewing, a lovely evening!
