March Meeting - by Ann S
The March meeting was to be a talk by a visiting speaker but was cancelled at the last minute. Deirdre opened the meeting with the notices and information on attractions taking place this month.
Due to the lack of a speaker it was decided to turn the meeting into a sewing evening with members bringing any sewing project they have at the moment. It was wonderful to see all the different projects and peoples choices of materials and colours and so much to talk about. Eileen collected the cat and boat blocks ready to be assembled into quilts for Linus and Jill the Christmas stockings for various hospitals.
In the email telling the members of the programme change Eileen hinted at a surprise which turned out to be Kate, our Events' Organizer, has gifted her Sizzix machine, together with a large number of cutting dies to the Group for members to borrow.
After coffee there was a show and tell of quilts made by members. I think everyone enjoyed the evening as it was a rare chance to just sit and sew and chat, I know I certainly did.
