Quilts, Quilts, Quilts

Our members have been busy.  Here are their many and various creations.

These include a number of quilts inspired by free block patterns issued by Moda and other fabric suppliers.

C'est la vie - by Sarah

I haven't been quilting all that long but I couldn't believe the amount of fabric I'd accumulated in a relatively short time! So I thought I'd use them up with this simple design which gave me lots of practice at nine-patches and was fun to sew. I enjoyed constructing the back too. Of course I couldn't resist buying some more bits along the way, so I used up one stash and started another. Ah well, c'est la vie.

Cottage Garden - by Gill S

Over the past few years I have visited Creative Quilting - a fabric shop in East Molesey - and each time I bought a few bags of selvedge scraps.  The scraps were surplus selvedge pieces from when they cut the 5" Charm Pack squares and might otherwise have been discarded.  I had a large, colourful collection, which I joined together to make a cot quilt.  I made 5" squares using the same colour and pattern including the selvedge pieces, before re-arranging them into colour blocks in a diagonal design and adding a border.

Seeing Stars in The Pink - by Jackie S

A weekly internet star pattern from Moda.  I decided on pink because I hadn't made anything in that colour for a while.
