Quilts. Quilts, Quilts

Quilts, Quilts, Quilts

This was our first major Exhibition since 2018, as the one planned for 2020 had to be cancelled.  Below is a selection of quilts on display.

Descriptions are beside the photographs

 Noah's Ark - by Ann D

The result of a Gail Lawther course on appliqué  and embellishments in 2018.  I loved this course and have to date made 13 of these Noah's Ark wall hangings for friends and family (particularly good as a baby gift).  Each one completely different, depending on the animals chosen, colours, fabrics and layout

Exploding Toadstools - by Kate

In the depths of the first lockdown, walking in the woods near our home, we came across this sudden splash of colour among the dead leaves.  This piece is my abstraction of the photo showing the explosion of colour.  Made from Oakshott scraps with tulle

 Triangles - by Eileen

A quilt sells a pattern and I purchased this pattern without hesitation.  It certainly is a good pattern for using up leftovers BUT, oh dear - trying to get the joins of six points to lie nicely was a nightmare and I certainly won't be making it again.  The longarm quilting saved the day and I am very pleased with the finished quilt

 Starburst - by Pat

This is a pattern and fabrics by Tula Pink.  Foundation paper pieced.  I thoroughly enjoyed making this quilt and love the vibrant colours.  Longarm quilted by Colette from Sew Spice
