Quilts, Quilts, Quilts

Our members have been busy.  Here are their many and various creations.

These include a number of quilts inspired by free block patterns issued by Moda and other fabric suppliers.

Blockheads 5, Tropicana - by Kate E

A block a week for 39 weeks: I gave up at 30! - when I was happy with my layout of mixed 12" and 6" blocks. I used Tropicana fabrics by the French designer Odile Bailloeul

  Cabbage White - by Viv

This is a quilt made during my Bromley Adult Education class.  It is my take of the original pattern by Regan Purcell.  I used an old worn-out white quilt cover and hand-dyed all the fabric used.  This was my first foray into free-motion quilting and now I really enjoy doing it.

Orcutt the Turtle - by Deirdre

A cot quilt for a friend's grandson.  Another pattern I found while on a California road trip, from a quilt shop in Orcutt, hence the name.  Based on a baby quilt pattern by Krista Moser.  Machine-pieced and quilted - in the ditch and using some of the decorative stitches on mu machine.
