2019 Mathilda's, Cordoba

Mathilda's, Córdoba - by Helen D

It’s always worth having a google!! Speeding along on the train from Malaga to Córdoba  I thought “wonder if it has a quilt shop?” And luckily enough it did and our walk from the station to the stunning old town allowed a short diversion and I was in Mathilda’s Patchwork. On opening the door we were greeted by the laughter of quilters and we found a sit & sew in progress. After admiring all their work it was time to look around and they had a good selection of different fabrics and cute kits - so after I selected a couple of things the owner ( a rather handsome Spaniard) took me by the hand to a display of fat quarters and asked me to choose a gift! How nice and all done with hand signals, smiles & laughter!

After that it was culture all the way - the Mesquita, Roman Bridge & Jewish Quarter all of which were fascinating and worth a visit but the jewel in the crown was Mathilda’s!
